weekend update

Now that I have the venting done, I shall do a bit more calm updating of the weekend.

The executive summary for those who wish to skip the long winded version: I was sick. I bought appliances. I played netset.

Friday after work, I went to Caribou Coffee with my friend Heather, since she'd pretty much had a really crappy day, finding out that she lost 90% of her staff, and the house wasn't going as nicely as planned. I'd just worked out for a bit, so I wasn't really wanting coffee, so I just finished off my water and was good.

I then went to Tam's to watch Farscape with my friends, and caught the Farscape 101 course beforehand, which was a good thing, as I'd been lackadasial about watching it recently. Of course, halfway through I began to feel rather ill, and pretty much sit through the rest of the show in a daze.

It's a good show though; if you're not watching it you should.

Of course it was then snowing and we had to clean off our cars, at least Eric helped me with mine; it's nice to have a boyfriend sometimes.

Saturday, I got up late, coughing up a lung, and went with Heather to Best Buy to get me some new appliances. I got a new fridge and a dishwasher, of course I waited in line forever, and ended up being stuck with the new guy, which was a MISTAKE.

We then went to see Enemy at the Gates, which was also very good, and actually had one of the more erotic love scenes I've seen in a movie in a long time, which was made even more interesting by the fact that they didn't show any skin at all really. You mostly saw facial expressions. Maybe that's what women consider erotic, versus the flesh displays that men like.

Anyway, after that we went to Stir Crazy, yum. Then it was tiem to go home and get some sleep.

Sunday, I skipped out on church and was sick. I slept, and I watched basketball, since the Illini were playing -- go Illini!

My picks in the pool are dwindling, though, damn Virginia and Florida for losing anyway!

I did get in a couple of games of netset, though. Netset is based on the Settlers of Catan game, and online is pretty addictive, unless you're playing with people who take FOREVER to make a turn and are bitchy when they play (this is not me, by the way).

Today has been crabby. Found out that they didn't actually schedule an install for my dishwasher, so instead of them coming on tuesday like I thought to deliver and install everything they will now be coming tomorrow to deliver and install the new fridge and then thursday to install the dishwasher. Yaargh.

That and Steve Winston keeps coming into my cube and not asking me if this is a good time, just continuting to bug me. So I kept writing while he was talking to me. I love having the talent of being able to listen and type at the same time; it freaks people out.

Anyway, I'm going to go work out on the treadmill today a little because I have not yet vented all the stress from today and I desperately need to do so, otherwise I will get nothing done tonight, and I do need to do so.

I'll probably leave the laptop at home though, else I will just sit around and play netset all night.

I still have a lot more thoughts to get down, on relationships and journals vs diarys, but that'll come later.

... whew, you've made it through the whole thing; was it worth it?

  • Tired.

Being in the office at 8:30 am means getting up at 5 because I hate traffic and traffic starts at 6:30. Wah. But I did get more Caribou. YOMS.

  • Making orthodontia better

    + ...I have about 4 hours before I can't eat anything that isn't soft...

  • For Lori.

I hate you pollen. HATE YOU.
