January 14, 2007 - movies and dinner

January 14, 2007Jay took me to see The Good Shepherd, where we stood in The Longest Concession Line Ever: first the register in the line we were standing in was having issues, so they opened the one next to it, and little did we know the family of four in front of us were paying for each. person's. food. individually.  Sigh.  Plus they made substitutions and so we had to check the prices about six times for each kid.

I could have gotten frustrated, but I decided to "find this charming."   It really didn't work all that well, I must say.

The movie was well acted and the plot twists were interesting, but the whole pace of the movie was just way too slow.  I think it was about a 2 and a half hour movie in all, and would have been much better as a two hour flick.

After the movie, it was about 10pm on a Sunday and at that point in time, the only thing in the area that was open was the Houlihan's a few minutes away, and since we hadn't eaten dinner, off we went.  One good thing about Houlihans?  X-Rated martini's - yum.

Being in the office at 8:30 am means getting up at 5 because I hate traffic and traffic starts at 6:30. Wah. But I did get more Caribou. YOMS.
