One thing is much different living here than in Chicago - I live on a mountain, and my office is also on a mountain. This lends itself to a lot of beautiful views on my way to work, which actually makes the thought of going into work enjoyable. I'd brought the camera along with the intent of taking a picture of my favorite view on the way to work, and lo and behold I drove through a microburst of SNOW! It's the first snow of the winter - New York had its first snow-free December since about 1860 or so this year, and we're on our way to doing that for January too. Crazy.
You can also see my lifeline in the right - the GPS receiver I bought because again, another different thing between Chicago and New Jersey: in Chicago you can just mapquest directions to a place and be able to just reverse those to go home again. This is
not so in New Jersey; sometimes the expressways let you off in one direction even if you wanted to go the other way, or there are no u-turns allowed, so I ended up the worst kind of lost: you know
exactly where you are, but you have no idea how to get on the expressway
right there to go home.
