So on my way into work today, I noticed that there was a crew of men and a crane putting up a new billboard advertisement; the ad was one of the kinds that is basically a huge plastic sheet stretched taut across the billboard. You never realize how huge those things are until you see them in perspective with a 6 ft man.
So my question is: how, exactly, do they create that piece of plastic? Do they have a really big printer that prints the graphics out in a warehouse? Do they have a bunch of guys painting a really big canvas, or do they print out parts of the final billboard and stitch them together?
