He's BAAAaaack
April said it best, but: Helixx is back, with a real live post that calls me insane (probably correctly).

And yes, it is all my fault (and not any of these other folks, no way) that helixx didn't make it to the gym at 5 am this morning. I take the blame! I mean, really, is 5 am even a real hour unless you're coming at it from the 4 am side? I don't think so. We shouldn't justify its existence with getting up and going to the gym. So there.

Also, yesterday I stopped by the library and paid my fines because I can't remember when the books are due if I go on vacation and picked up the following to read after Diary of an Emotional Idiot by Maggie Estep, recommended to me by bizetsy. NO LAUGHING, April, ChrisHal or Gracie!!

The books:

  • (suggested by Otis) Made in America : an informal history of the English language in the United States / Bill Bryson.

  • (suggested by G-Rob) One hundred years of solitude / Gabriel Garcia Marquez ; translated from the Spanish by Gregory Rabassa.

  • (suggested by G-Rob) I am Charlotte Simmons / Tom Wolfe.

  • Pretty birds : a novel / Scott Simon.

  • One shot : a Jack Reacher novel / Lee Child.

Also, superexcited about the project April and Gracie and I are trying to get going, because April ROCKS and has managed to secure an interview from someone special (who is not PHIL GORDON, alas). Now if we can just figure out the technical details...

You kept him up playing poker and not Euchre? Very disappointed.

Actually, you can be VERY disappointed, because we weren't playing cards at ALL - we kept him up just talking. How's that for revolutionary?

If there are web programming technical details involved, drop me a line :) I may volunteer my services!

We may do that :)

We're busy (kinda) trying to find out the logistics of podcasting.

Awesome - I'm addicted to a geek podcast with the guys from the old TechTV Screensavers show - www.twit.tv. I know that they use Skype VoIP to do their long distance teleconferencing and it turns out sounding really good. One trick is to make sure everybody has decent mic's. Have you picked recording software? I hear Audacity is decent and free. If you have a Mac around, that GarageBand app will do it too. There are actually lots of options. I've only researched it a little bit in the past, because the concept is so intriguing :)

I think we're looking at skype (that's what the lord admiral guys use), but the problem is with interviews that we want to do, it's not so good.

And I have no idea about the recording software, I'm SO not the sound engineer in the bunch. :D
