Hey, I need some brainstorming help -- my phone interview is at 8 am Thursday, so here's my request:

If you interview people for positions, or have been on interviews, what are some of the common questions you get asked?

By far the most productive question I ask, (besides "what was the first album you ever bought")is: "what has been your greatest work related challenge so far?" or "what's the hardest thing you've done so far?" It shows where the person finds challenge, shows what accomplishments they own the most. It's also a question that most people are not prepared for, so it shows them thinking on their toes.

"How do you motivate yourself" and "where do you find inspiration" are also good questions, especially if there is a creative aspect to the position.

"what's your management style?" if it's a management position too.

a problem you had that required a creative solution, and what you did to solve it.

something that you took on independently, and the results of it.

and... this article was actually quite helpful: http://editorial.careers.msn.com/articles/iq/

good luck! :)
