the one benefit of a slow computer that I have an excuse to type an entry (or part of an entry) up while I wait for it to get the address book sorted.

The weekend was pretty good, but I'm dissing myself on the sleep again -- even when I want to go to bed early, I find that I keep having just ONE MORE THING to do. FLYLADY says this is perfectionism, and it probably is, but I did wake up feeling better that a couple of those things were done.

One of those things was to prep a couple crock pot meals for the friends of mine who just had their baby ~3 mo early. Since they're at the hospital every night, I thought it'd be nice to make them some dinners that they can just reheat and eat instead of grabbing fast food or worrying about cooking. Of course, I remembered at 11pm that I wanted to cook them today, and thus, I was chopping chicken and veggies until midnight.

As a result of my extreme tiredness, about 11 am today, I was absolutely convinced that while I had set the timer to turn the power to the crock pot on at 11 am (the alfredo should only cook for 6 hours, and I'm away longer than that), I didn't turn the crock pot's switch on to 'low'. Since having alfredo sauce sit on your counter for 8 hours is a Bad Idea, I rushed home only to find the aroma of Alfredo and Sweet and Sour chicken greeting me when I walked in the door. Dur. I had turned the crock pot on.

But as a consolation prize, I did get Wendy's for lunch. And the drive through line was long but moved quickly. And we all know what that means...

... fresh french fries! Yum.

And now my computer seems to be giving me control back over Outlook, so I shall get back to the mounds and mounds of work that awaits me.

But not before I tell you that I got taken out to formal tea here by a lovely lady from church (along with a couple other church ladies), and it was unbelievably lovely. The weather was amazing, and as I'm in Elmhurst about once a month, I have a feeling my pocketbook is going to suffer from the tea and spice selection they have there.

If anyone comes out to the Chicago area, you let me know, and we'll go have tea.

And I should write up more about my weekend, but, well, work calls.

Why do I constanly misspell 'church' as 'chruch'?

  • Tired.

Being in the office at 8:30 am means getting up at 5 because I hate traffic and traffic starts at 6:30. Wah. But I did get more Caribou. YOMS.

  • Making orthodontia better

    + ...I have about 4 hours before I can't eat anything that isn't soft...

  • For Lori.

I hate you pollen. HATE YOU.
