My weekend...
After leaving work at 7 pm Friday, thanks to a couple high-profile projects that needed finishing before Monday, I was thoroughly looking forward to the first Saturday I had absolutely free in several weeks. I was going to catch up on my weekly home blessing, and get a couple projects done around the house, and do some more decluttering, along with a good dose of sleeping and reading. I went to bed at the insane hour of 10:30 pm, and didn't set an alarm. I woke up at 9:30, nice and refreshed.

... of course, I didn't set my pager off vibrate, so I didn't hear the page my boss sent at 6:40 am about the network virus that took down the Motorola wide area network. It even made CNN. So, after jumping in the shower to wet down my bedhead, I was in the office at 10 am, relieving those who had been in since 1 am. I finally left around 7:00 pm, only because the dog needed to be let out of his crate and answer the call of nature.

Saturday night was spent mostly on conference calls, and then I did a whole lot of nothing, because I was so wiped out. I finished "Sphere of Influence" by Kyle Mills (who will be the next Tom Clancy), and crashed out.

I got up Sunday, went to church and about 15 min of the annual meeting (where I was unanimously elected to the vestry, woo), and then was back on another call to get coverage for the next 24 hours. We got the 5 am to 1 pm shift. So, I got to watch the superbowl as I was finishing up chores around the house. I almost went to a party at halftime, and then I realized, coat and gloves on, that I really didn't want to go. So, I didn't. I finished doing some cleaning, and watched the new episode of Alias, which makes me worry about the future of the show and not in a good way.

And then I went to bed at 11:30, and set the alarm for 4:45. Ugh. I was on the conf call by 5, and at work by 7. I didn't know there were so many people on the road at 6:45, it's crazy.

And I'm now inventing a caffeine IV drip.

Oh yeah, and men are really cranky in the morning. I think all that testosterone needs its beauty rest.

Well, besides the Fredericks-of-Hollywood opening of Alias, I thought the show was great.

I think they tailored that episode a bit for the post-bowl crowd.

Of course, I saw Simeon Rice play in the 'Bowl... he was on my floor on Garner 3 back in the day. Yeesh.

I'll sign up for the caffeine drip too.

you're saying you didn't like the fredrick's of hollywood part? :)

But what's left? there's not going to be the cliffhangers like there were at the end, supposedly, and vaughn and syd have hooked up so where's that tension going? It's like jumping the shark, eh?

(I think i have a crush on agent weiss though)

Did you see that Simeon said he came from 'hard knocks university' instead of UIUC? or so i'm told.

Well, she looks good, no doubt... it was just slightly sleazier than they usual do.

I think there's LOTS of stuff left: Sark and Sloane with the new plan; Will plus EvilFrancie, DeadFrancie being dead, The Will/Syd/Vaughn love triangle, Dixon and Marshall will have new lives, and I predict Agent Kendall and Derevko will have a love child. :)

Oh my GOSH. How exhausting. Is everything ok now? (I haven't seen CNN in, um, months.)

Yeah, we're good now. Today was uneventful, though I had to be on a conf call at 5 am Monday and in at work by 7 am. That bit.

I missed the 7 am call this morning, too. Oops. :)
