My weekend...

After leaving work at 7 pm Friday, thanks to a couple high-profile projects that needed finishing before Monday, I was thoroughly looking forward to the first Saturday I had absolutely free in several weeks. I was going to catch up on my weekly home blessing, and get a couple projects done around the house, and do some more decluttering, along with a good dose of sleeping and reading. I went to bed at the insane hour of 10:30 pm, and didn't set an alarm. I woke up at 9:30, nice and refreshed.

... of course, I didn't set my pager off vibrate, so I didn't hear the page my boss sent at 6:40 am about the network virus that took down the Motorola wide area network. It even made CNN. So, after jumping in the shower to wet down my bedhead, I was in the office at 10 am, relieving those who had been in since 1 am. I finally left around 7:00 pm, only because the dog needed to be let out of his crate and answer the call of nature.

Saturday night was spent mostly on conference calls, and then I did a whole lot of nothing, because I was so wiped out. I finished "Sphere of Influence" by Kyle Mills (who will be the next Tom Clancy), and crashed out.

I got up Sunday, went to church and about 15 min of the annual meeting (where I was unanimously elected to the vestry, woo), and then was back on another call to get coverage for the next 24 hours. We got the 5 am to 1 pm shift. So, I got to watch the superbowl as I was finishing up chores around the house. I almost went to a party at halftime, and then I realized, coat and gloves on, that I really didn't want to go. So, I didn't. I finished doing some cleaning, and watched the new episode of Alias, which makes me worry about the future of the show and not in a good way.

And then I went to bed at 11:30, and set the alarm for 4:45. Ugh. I was on the conf call by 5, and at work by 7. I didn't know there were so many people on the road at 6:45, it's crazy.

And I'm now inventing a caffeine IV drip.

Oh yeah, and men are really cranky in the morning. I think all that testosterone needs its beauty rest.
