I really, truly, hate winter colds.

Mmph. I should buy stock in chicken soup.

also, will someone please tell me why cardboard boxes that have 'press in on side and tear top back' never work? Is this just some sort of conspiracy to annoy us all?

design vs. implementation

In a perfect world, we could press, tear, fold, and it would be a new iteration of some corporation-sponsored origami. Alas, mass-produced origami just doesn't work...

I hope you get over your cold soon. Oh- and I found your journal because I was doing an interest search on Cursillo, since I'm going to live mine this weekend. Wish me well!

Peace.

Scientific studies have shown that perforating paper [or cardboard] will actually make it STRONGER. After all, they'll rip anywhere except where they're perforated. Thus, if you were to build a tower that's completely indestructable, you would build it out of cardboard that resembles swiss cheese (with very many very small holes).

Ultimately, the perforations on packages are just to make the people at the food companies feel good that they're making their products Easy To Use. Due to that development, mankind as a species may someday starve as a reault of modern packaging methods.
