On sleeping, and drugs, and conference calls

I skipped on taking pooch to obedience class last night -- my upper backing was just aching too much to put me in any frame of mind to deal with trying to make my non-conforming dog conform.

Turns out this was probably a good thing, as I ended up falling asleep at 9:30 pm! I took an epsom salt/tea tree oil with sandalwood fragrance bath around 8 pm, and at 9 I was falling asleep watching the US open. So, I took a Tylenol 3 (back was still hurting and I figured I'd kill the pain while I was sleeping so as to not aggravate it while I slept) and crashed out after setting my alarm for 5:30 so I could get to work an hour earlier than usual, as I had an 8 am conf call.

Of course, my mom called at 10:30 to tell me that she'd arrived safely. My first question, "Arrived where?!" was out of my mouth before I remembered she was talking about driving to Asheville to visit my sister for a 10 day vacation or so. I'd thought she was going to make the trip today, though, so my confusion was not all the codeine. Promise.

Woke up after some really odd dreams at 6:30, and sighed. I flipped the alarm clock to find out that, yes, I had set my alarm for 5:30 PM. Thus is twas a rush and dash to get out the door and I still had to take the conference call from my cellphone in my car. I believe my new job is going to make sure my earpiece thingy is surgically implanted in my head.

That, and I'm going to get powerpoint inserted into my head. Or run on startup of the computer.

  • Tired.

Being in the office at 8:30 am means getting up at 5 because I hate traffic and traffic starts at 6:30. Wah. But I did get more Caribou. YOMS.
