primary butterflies

The return of the thankful post

Three things I'm thankful for:

  • I'm alive, even if I feel like death warmed over

  • It's not busy at work, so I had no guilt about going home to be sick

  • Friends who love you and just listen when you need a shoulder to lean on

hooray for modern medicine

It's amazing what a couple Tylenol and some Sudafed will do for a sore throat, stuffy head and a headache.

Of course the four hour nap in the middle of the day probably didn't hurt either :)

On a somewhat related note, I woke up at 4 am this morning with golf balls for throat glands, after taking some meds and gargling with salt water (which is an amazing temporary cure for sore throats, btw), I tried to get back to sleep, but every cell in my spine seemed to be bloated and trying to push its way out of my skin. The weird thing? All I could think about, instead of sleeping, was how to describe this in my LJ with as many adjectives as possible.

That should have been my first sign that I did not need to go to work today. I did anyway, though, but gave up for an hour or so -- an improvement, as I generally ignore the whole being sick thing as long as possible.

on a sad note, it seems that the lovely miz harperwilla has deleted her journal. I hope it's not permanent.

I'm going back to sleep now. I'll hopefully have more to post later, about new years eve, or such.

oh yeah, apasionado, emily0582 and ladyfirebird, you should check out the writing inspiration journal roundbox started by sinnie -- a topic a day to get the mind going -- if you're interested.
