I'm going to see Moulin Rouge today with Paula and zen_raven. Should be good; I'm looking forward to the musicals and the whole visual setup. Will it be as though-provoking as Romeo+Juliet? I don't know.

Books are evil. I don't mean evil in a really bad way, they're more like cream-cheesy evil. I say this because I was up until 1:30 in the morning reading the last 100 pages or so of Crown of Shadows from C. S. Friedman's Coldfire Trilogy. This isn't a good thing when I need to be up 6 hours later. n.b.: if you haven't read her book The Madness Season or In Conquest Born, go read them now. You're missing out on two of the most incredible books out there.

So, I got up much too early for my tastes, especially when you consider it is a Saturday. Normally, Saturday is the one day out of the week that I get to sleep in. However, I do not have that luxury for the next couple weeks, alas.

Today I needed to be at the church for lay reader practice, which meant I was taking a detour to Caribou coffee for the nectar of the gods: a skim raspberry mocha. I wouldn't be functional otherwise.

The practice was okay, however, I got pulled aside to 'work on my delivery'. I read a little fast, and my sentances 'don't flow together'. I'm a little miffed, because I know I am a good reader, and there were some other people up there who didn't enunciate who got a 'good good'. I mean, this is ageist, but I wonder if I got singled out because I'm at least 10 years younger than the next youngest person there.

Ah, well. I'll have plenty of time to practice.
