I think I'm having stir fry tonight, because I'm starving, and I need to get These Damn Vegetables in.

How do people actually eat 5 servings of fruit and veggies in a day? It's a good thing we have smoothies.

Oy...fruit & veggies are basically all I eat (with some pasta/bread thrown in for good measure) and I don't eat enough in a day to equal that many servings! whoa!

Wow, it sounds like you don't eat that much? A serving of veggies is just 1 c, so it's not terribly hard, unless you're trying to keep it varied, and not eat only iceberg lettuce and carrots. :)

Not so much...usually a power bar thingy or a banana for breakfast, soup and/or salad for lunch and maybe stirfry for dinner...i probably ate more when i was on the cleanse than i normally do. lol

I don't think it's a good idea to get fruits and vegetables in juice form. It might take 5 oranges to make a glass of oj but you'd never eat 5 oranges in one sitting. As well, you end up missing out on a lot of fiber (important fiber!). My highest fruits and vegetables consumption was when I got an organic box delivery. Not only did it keep things varied and interesting but it got me eating vegetables I wouldn't normally pick at the produce section. (ie squash...which actually tastes yummy but which I'd never pick for myself)

I've looked into the produce delivery after majorweathermentioned she had it in her area, but haven't really seen anything.

And I don't really use a lot of juice in my smoothies -- I take 1 c of light vanilla yogurt, about 2 c of frozen berries (strawberry, blueberry, whatever) and enough liquid (milk or juice) to make it come out of the blender. So, I get about two servings in that way.

But, that still leaves three more in the day!

A certain odd gal I used to know told me about how she used to CRAM a couple extra servings in late at night, standing in front of her fridge, when SHE WASN'T EVEN HUNGRY. That's dedication. She was determined to have seven servings a day.

I guess I'm just lucky to be geared for veggie consumption. I feel better with a lot of plantstuff in my diet. In summer, I like to make big, elaborate salads with grape tomatoes and dried cranberries and stuff like that. Toss in a chicken breast and some diced mozzarella, and you've got your proteins.

I really wonder if some people just are tuned to eat fruits and veggies and some aren't?

I know I prefer the sweets over the veggies, and that doesn't help with the eating veggie portions of my day.
